    Default How to overclock Intel i3 - 2400 Series

    Hello, I wanted to know if is it possible to overclock my Intel i3 2nd Gen & if yes. What is the maximum safe limit ?

    If it doesnt have a K on the end of it like 2500K or 2600K then no you can't really overclock it.

    As above, unfortunately that chip is not a k series CPU so doesn't have the unlocked multiplier you need to over clock properly.

    You can only slightly over-clock it the old fashioned way (that being said, what is your motherboard)?

    Don't bother, even if you could notch up the BCLK enough to even notice a difference you'd have a dead cpu very quickly. Best left at rated speeds mate.

    I'm not sure there is an i3 24xx series to begin with?

    It's an i5-2400, unless you're buying an Acer all-in-one PC, in which they've decided to brand it the i3

    No, its not "K" - never mind bad luck, but i guess there will be some updates to bios atleast right?

    updates in what sense? the chip is locked to those frequencies for hardware reasons not by the bios/software
