Help with the start up
Hi all,
I am havionf problems and am near enough a compl;ete novice to all this.
I got the Meebox with no drives in. I have physically put the drives in now and am trying to get going.
I can not get into the http://meebox:8090 settings.
I have tried on my PC, which is in another room but is connected via a homeplug and tried on the laptop.
I run the setup and can see the meebox, but I cannot connect to it in anyway.
The drives are 2gb and brand new, Im not quite sure what i need to do with the HDD image? I don't know what to do with the mediatomb?
I'm really struggling.
Please cna someone point out if i am missing something really obvious? or even if it's not so obvious.
So basically I connect the Meebox direct to my router, and then have tried running a cable direct from the meebox to my laptop, as mentioned, it finds it from the disc setup, and i run through that, but just cannot connect?
Do I need to do something with the drives first?
Please help

I haven't hacked this box in a while but I'll try and help.
Try using the IP Address of the box rather than "meebox". IIRC you cannot use the name until you have the HDD image installed.
Initially you should try connecting directly to the box (with no other DHCP server on the network), either connect to the boxes WiFi or Ethernet. I think the box defaults to be a DHCP server, therefore if you connect like I have just said you can look at your PCs default gateway, then try http://default.gateway.ip.addess:8090. Once in, disable the DHCP server, then try to connect over your home network.
The drives are 2gb and brand new, Im not quite sure what i need to do with the HDD image?
Once you are logged into the HTTP server you have to download the HDD image to the HDD in the box. I only used 1 HDD so can only advise in that context. I could not get the automated image installer to work! Go to the website and find the latest HDD image. I plugged the HDD into my pc via SATA and manually formatted the disc, once formatted I extracted the image onto the HDD.
You should probably just read through the entire forum thread as it is very useful, If my advise is incorrect it is because my Meebox is setup and has been running fine for ~6 Months now.
I don't know what to do with the mediatomb?
Once the HDD image is installed I think this is quite easy. I use twonky personally

Hullo - finally had a chance to play with one of these.
I've reset and updated the firmware, but I don't have a setup CD to install the disk image. Can anyone help, or direct me to a download for the CD?
Many thanks.

Does anybody know how to setup a mail server on the Meebox?
