    Default Another Green machine build

Right ok Yesterday i got my shiny new asus maximus extreme iv so thought i should probably put up some build pictures as i had to redo my H20 loop and cut my case up a Bit.

    pic 1

    the box

    pic 2

    Open the lid

    pic 3

my other major components my lovely gtx 580 oc and 16gb of mushkin radioactive

    Pic 4

i took this pic because i always mount the motherboard and then realise the I/O shield is sitting on the floor next to the pc and it drives me up the wall, not this time

    pic 5

ram cpu and cpu block installed cpu is an intel core i5 2500k Previous best stable overclock 4.5 @1.35v on asus sabertooth p67. The cpu block is a Dtek fusion V1 with 1155 mountings and accelerator nozzle kit.

    pic 6

    pic 7

i tried to mount the radiator internally but my ram got in the way so i couldn't do push pull so i had to mount it on the top of the case which meant removing the top grill and cutting away some plastic, It actually looks quite good thought i think.

    pic 8

this is once all the components are in the pc. i'll be honest it took me about 3 hours to do this i had to keep removing things becasue i wasn't happy but finally settled onthis configuration.

    pic 9

last 3 pictures are of it all finished and in and running no leaks.

And yes i know i still haven't braided my pump cable

currently got my 2500k running at 4.73 but still working on stability

i think i have cracked stability 103 x46 4.739ghz @ 1.360v not sure how good that is compared to other 2500k's but thats 250mhz more than my old sabertooth with only an increase from 1.35 to 1.36v am very happy with this motherboard idle temp 32 max temp under full load 70c

    Very nice mate

I have this case and was wondering what to do about those 2 really long red sata cables that come from the top i/o, Id been searching everywhere for some long black ones but must admit putting braid over them is a great idea

i just spent an hour playing skyrim and my cpu topped out at 62c @ 4.73ghz and my gtx 580 maxxed at 58c in game its awesomely cool in there. The maximus is a superb overclocking board its so easy to use

@scunnyuk one of them i covered with braid becasue it is glued into the slot at the top of the case and the other i removed and replaced with a black cable

Perfect fit dude. For a medium size case it's got a lot of space, there is still. Plenty of space off of the edge to plug in cables.

I think I have hit my cpu sweet spot. 4.73 @1. 36v if I bump her to 4.8 it needs a full 1.43v and then one of the cores hit 81c

still pleased though as my saber couldn't get my CPU stable over 4.5
