    Default odd torrent

heres a odd one. I download a popular american tv show using bit torrent.
i got a real good download speed last night of 1240kbs which is the fastest ive had. I have a 10Mb cable connection.
Anyway this file of 346mb downloaded at break neck speed to my PC

    but

the folder it went into would crash every single time i tried to get it.
It let me drag n drop it to another file but that one then crashed and the original then became ok. Even when i plopped it into the trash bin that would crash until i emptied it...

So whadya think.. (dont down load torrents is not the answer im looking for) lol

Try downloading it again or try dowloading a different version of it. Is it by any chance Lost S03 E03?

Btw, that's some awesome speed you've got there.

I edited my post from e04 to e03 as well because my e03 is 347mb! 8)

Anyway, I'd just try it again but a different file, if you can find one. I watched it this morning. A superb episode. Good luck.

    (upload faster)

I found this that someone posted elsewhere which may or may not help

Also if ya having probs with explorer crashing, goto my computer, then tools up the top then folder options and then under general u have tasks, set it to Use classic folders.

Next get to one folder before u enter the folder that has your AVI, but hold CTRL and then double click the folder that contains your avi, so say u just unpacked your rars to c: then from my computer window u want to hold down CTRL there.

What this will do is open the folder as an explore window, like when u right click and select explore folder it comes up in a list view. Now when u select the avi file it shouldn't try to create a thumbnail on the left or in the white space of the window u open.

I use Koepi's XviD Codec 1.2 if I use media player but sometimes I use vlc as my vid player if I'm too lazy to put it on cd and watch on my divx player

The .sfv files that come with most torrents these days are for checking the files for errors.

Google 'QuickSFV' , install, then just double click the .sfv file and it'll run an error check on the files. This is the quickest way to check wether the download was ok. I also use Utorrent, after using BitComet for a little while, its smaller, faster, easier to use, and has all the features BC does.

Can't say i had the problem you described, i've got E03 and E04 with no probs.

Its Quite hard to write a Guide its easier for you to be shown or Talked through using it.. But there Great + side no uploading, You get your Max download for your Connection in my case (NTL 10mb gets you 1.2mbs 24/7). No Spyware, Virus's or other crap. You Download using Servers nothing like p2p etc off other peoples boxes..

    - Side you have to pay for it i use Giganews at $24.99 a month but if you want a lot of stuff, Fast and before anyone else use the news Groups.

If you have a low speed conection that has usage caps and fair usage policies etc there really not for you.. My connection can get me 100 gb a night ..

I can try and write you a guide if your really interested i managed to convert everyone in my gaming Clan to them they all use them now to the point were some of them share usernames and passwords which each other to cut the monthly cost down.. LOL ! .. What connection do you have ?

Man Thank God i live in a Cabled Area !! Yeah NG's Could work hmm let me ask one of my Friends on Yahoo now what he used to get off a 2mb line.. It would be faster.. Off the top of my head you should be able to get about 5gb a night . but You May get BT / ISP breathing down your neck saying your using up too much bandwith etc etc..
