Default Why do people still buy TN monitors?

    When this is out?

    http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/Other+products/22%22+LG+IPS226V-PN+Widescreen+IPS+LED+Monitor+?productId=45882

    £125 for a 22" IPS?

That's like £10 more than a TN for MUCH better colour reproduction.

This must be a pretty poor monitor otherwise I don't know why it's not a best seller.

    Looks decent too!

For hardcore gaming or competative gaming IPS have worse response times although are better in all other area's. For some response times are more important

Firstly, only a small minority know what tn or ips is, so most go for just size and how many colours it has
Also price, you don't see £50 ips monitors

I believe it does have HDMI.

I love my Dell P2210H but the lack of HDMI is slightly annoying.

If this is any good then I may swap my Dell.

Another thing to note is same could be said for why do people buy LCD/LED monitors when there a CRT monitors far superior in everyway [except size obviously]

Good CRT monitors have FAR better colour reproduction/accuracy, and 0 response times/ghosting and just far smoother, better in everyway except allot bigger and more bulky. But people just assume because LCD is newer tech its better and also assume its 'HD' and a better picture when good CRT's are also 'HD' the same sharpness and picture.

But the retail market has happily helped drown CRT out because they are so big and heavy it is so much easier and less expensive/hasstle/effort for them to sell 1000's of slim light LCD's instead, even though CRT's are ultimatly still alot better.

enthusiast are the minority an really only expect enthusiasts to know what the difference is between IPS an TN monitors, rest just see a monitor as a monitor as long as it works they don't care.

Because you can get 20" LED screens for under £70.

Because my LG LED 22" 1920X1080 monitor was a quid, and I bought my P2210H (Now P2310H) 2 years ago for eyefinity.

If I was buying now, it'd be a Dell Ultra IPS.

Not so much about enthusiasts as it is about professionals needing the better quality screen with far more accurate colour production.

That to me looks a bit too cheap... Depends on how good the monitor it self is.

That's very true. Simply having an IPS panel doesn't immediately make it good if there are other ways they are cutting costs. I'd sooner go for a Dell U2312h than the LG.
