Default Spec me a new 750w+ PSU

Looking at upgrading my psu after Christmas for a possible GTX560 sli in the new year (depending on how the 7xxx turns out)

    Budget is <£120
    My system isn't oc'ed
    I5-2500k, P67A-GD53A, 12gb silverline, 1TB, 60gb SSD

That is a bargain =| I haven't got the money for it yet either!

Is 750w enough for a sli? I was looking at 850w just to be safe

Well, A 560 is about 100W each, so you could get away with 700W but if you want a future-proof psu you could go higher budget permitting.

    750W should be fine imo for 2 x 560Ti.

OCZ ZT 750w or Corsair TX 750W

Can't go wrong with either .

That's also a great PSU but its modular and has Efficiency close to Gold, some reviews show it passing gold too.

    The 850w is £15 more:

The OCZ ZT is also modular but comes at same price as the TX (which is not modular) which is why I recommend it, if you prefer modular it's a very good choice.

HX's would be good but come at a price, if you can afford it go for it, Seasonic's can be had in that price range also.

I thought I'd bring this thread back to life instead of starting a new one..

I'm looking at getting the XFX 750w Black edition, any thoughts?
it's around the £85 mark but has a silver efficiency rating and its modular and from what I've read it's based on the Seasonic components so it seems a win all round...but why is it as cheap as a non modular/bronze TX750?

That is a good PSU, the only thing stopping me from recommending that is the fact that its XFX, their warranty/CS is bad. The Corsair is well worth the extra just for the top CS. The TX V2's are Seasonic btw.

The XFX does come with a 5 year warranty, the same as Corsair but I'm guessing the CS isn't on the same level
Maybe it will improve over time, XFX are still a relative newcomer to the PSU market... a man can hope, right?

    OCZ 750w, Only £60.
80 + bronze, ALSO the 7870's max power is 120W (ive been told) so you can crossfire 7870.

That's a crazy price for a 750W, its only 2% less efficient then the XFX as wellHas got a shorter warranty though but I would have some monies left over to go towards my SLI/CF....Hmmm....n00b question.. will the next gen cards require PCI-E 3.0 or are they backwards compatible?

Edit, don't worry, I decided not to be lazy and Googled it... for some reason I assumed I'd have to buy a new mobo for the next gen cards, but you don't!
