Just get a router, can get one from 20 or more from aria. Also, then you wont need both on to use the internet on one. Also, routers do have built in firewall, so you wont have to worry about that.

    hi thanks for the reply

but the problem is i cannot get the m/b to have any connectivity from the eartenet to get either another comp working directly through The new one, or by connecting either modem router etc, wirless or cable

it is this mother board that will not do this as the other 2 (and the prehistoric one) all worked fine with either set up.

a friend has the same prob with a simoliar m/b & the same cpu no advice frm m/b maufacturer or supplier in either case, has been forthcoming. I cant see why it wont work it says local network connection is fine no 2 comp says it is not, take the new one out put no 3 in and hey presto all works fine

this is stumping me any ideas

hi sorry forgot to say the new comp will not work with either router cable or wirless.

i mentined re going throug direct connection as this is the simplest way to connect, i generally try this first withn any machine then set up accordingly.

as i say cannot get connectivity from the m/b tried all the avaible drivers etc permutations of settings that should be relevant,

thanks then read the reply i posted before this

    ta muchly
