Default EEE PC 1000H RMA question

    Hi,

I've bought an EEE PC 1000H from Aria a few days ago and it has a fault. If you want to read about the fault I have a thread on the eeeuser forums here-

    http://forum.eeeuser.com/viewtopic.php?id=55362

but basically the battery never reaches 100% charge, it stops on 70%, and I've tried everything obvious to sort it out.

My queestion is about Aria RMA process - it just tells me the warranty is with the manufacturer and won't let me generate an RMA number unless I am returning it under the DSA without a fault. So basically Aria won't do anything because the PC is faulty.

They seem to be forgetting consumer laws here, the contract I have is with Aria not Asus and it's up to Aria to sort this out.

Is it worth pursuing this avenue and getting Aria to sort this out (afterall if I send it back to them they will probably just send it to Asus) or should I just send it off to Asus like they recommend? And what happens if I want a refund - if I send it off to Asus, they're going to fix it or send me a refurb, which frankly isn't good enough since the PC is under 30 days old.

Sorry about the long first post, just looking for some guidance about the best way to proceed.
    Thanks,
    Simon.

Unfortunatley for you it is Christmas day, so there will be a backlog and a bit of a delay in sorting it out. Rest assured that you will be able to rma to aria. IF you phone up aria, (when their working) and organise an RMA, it will be fine. I had a motherboard that had a warranty with the company, not aria, i just told aria i was only sending it to them, and they were more than happy to take it, and i got my rma sorted within 2 days. You will be fine, its just a shame that its happened over christmas.
