Default Spec me a Projector please

Hi. I need a projector (for my wedding to keep the masses of kids entertained with a DVD in the evening).

I know i could rent one, but wondering if there are any half decent sub £300 projectors out there (as thinking it might be handy for home too).

only requirement really is, it has to have vga connection (which most do anyway), or dvi or hdmi.

It will only be used in a very dark room, so thinking it doesnt need a majorly powerful lamp.

Projector will also sit about 4 metres from the wall it would display on.

    Cheers!

Higher the lumens the better the image shows.

720 res is okay for them

    Lamp life.

also obviously the further back the projector is, the bigger the picture, but lower the quality?

Seeing as it would be about 4 metres from where we want it to be shown, how big do you think projection would be?

Avoid Hitachi. They are terrible as is their support.

Depends on the screen or what you pint it at.

The more the "screen" absorbs the light the better.

or the acer x110p? seems to get quite good reviews?

also basically, its going to be a dark room, projector around 4m away from the wall it needs to project onto.

Also would it be worth investing in a some material or something to use as the screen instead of the white wall? or is that not needed?

    thanks for the input guys.

bought a optoma ds211 in the end, for less than 230 quid!. (over 100 quid off)

Excellent picture! ok its only 800x600 but still great resolution.

Heres a pic of me watching a HD idiot abroad episode, measures it, its 70 inches, bright and clear !.

Projector is about 7 foot away!.

Great bargain and quality indeed, well recommend!

This picture is taken from my rubbish iphone, so camera quality not amazing
