Installing XP via USB - nLite problems
Hi all,
Get my AOA150-AB soon, and am preparing to install XP on it via USB.
I've been working for about 3 days trying to get it to work, as you can imagine I'm at wits' end with it. Have tried various install methods, it'd usually either:
a) In text-based setup tell me the EULA could not be found and force exit
b) In text-based setup tell me the "Windows XP CD containing the installation files could not be accessed"
c) Ask me for a Win98 or earlier CD even though it's not an upgrade edition
d) Not even bother booting into it at all
e) Hal.dll missing
Furthest I've got is with USBPrep_10.exe, bootsect.exe and the HP Disk Format Tool, I get to the screen where I can chose which disk to format, then when I try to format it tells me it could not be formatted, then upon pressing enter to continue it gives me the same old "The Windows XP CD containing the installation files could not be accessed" message and forces a restart.
Anybody have any idea what's causing these? Have I installed it to USB wrong? Have I nLited it wrong? :S been searching long and hard and found no fix.
It's a legit version of XP Pro with fresh install files pulled off the disk. Lastsession.ini:
