    Default Virgin Media Competitors?

I've been with Virgin Media for quite a long time, needless to say I always have something to complain about, whether it be the Customer Service, or the Speed of the Broadband (normally both), so I was curious to know if there are any other Broadband Suppliers out there that offer fibre-optic broadband (Just any broadband that doesn't require a BT Phone Line)?

I've done a bit of browsing, but yet to find one.

    Cheers

    Luke.

i dont think there will EVER be a competitor with Virgin because Virgin own the whole of the fiber optic in the UK and im 100% sure they would never allow another company to use there cables etc...

Yeh that is the other thing, they arent offering a service that cannot be competed with, when the main market like cheap broadband.

yea but that really not fair on Virgin then as think about it, they paid millions and millions of pounds to get the UK on cable and stick tons of cables all over the UK etc... and then for OFCOM to make them do it so people can use there service that would not be right and im sure everyone at Virgin will be mad.

If it does happen then Virgin will problely charge millions so that the provider that has rented their services wont be able to beet there prices

i understand what your saying there Micky but Thats what happened with BT.

competition rules mean you cant have a monopoly so they may make Virgin lease there cable to supply to competetors.

would be good for customers as they get a choice then but you can always argue that with sky, freeview and bt vision along with Virgin Media that there's enough choice for customers already.

Also, if virgin had to let other companies use the line, then they would still rake in line rental money.

Exactly, make money for old fibre, just like BT do by renting some of their backhaul to Virgin media.

I wish i lived in a cable area

    crappy stupidly long telephone line.
