    Default My i7 2600k build 4.8ghz @ 1.39vcore

    Got this delivered on Thursday

    Got obligatory tea for building

    Won't be needing this monstrosity

    New setup in my case

Into UEFI bios now, getting ready to install Windows

Pressed the OC Genie button on the motherboard after installing Windows, rebooted and got 4.2ghz on stock voltage

    Ran SuperPI

Also broke 10k on physics in 3DMark 11

    Physics Score
    10116

    http://3dmark.com/3dm11/369167;jsess...634FD24A926B31

Found I couldn't adjust vcore and save it in the UEFI to anything more than stock when it booted to Windows, a quick live update in the UEFI sorted that (Note to others getting MSI boards)

Played around with clocks and volts to get 4.8 ghz at 1.39v

    Cinebench 11.5

    SuperPi 32m 7min 19.828s

    SuperPi 1m 7.815s

Have settled on a 4.5ghz 24/7 clock at 1.275vcore, with turboboost and speedstep enabled to downclock when idling.

Temps at idle after 1 hour of prime 95 small fft and a 5 minute rest
Idle fan now set at 37.5%

Haven't tried yet tbh, but I reckon with some playing with the voltages I could get 5ghz @ 1.39v with the VCCIO and VCCSo voltages adjusted.

I'm a bit reticent about going over 1.4v atm as someone on Overclockers has a borked i5 2500k that they put over 1.4v through

They say it's blue screening on a more and more regular basis, and the Intel processor inspection app has said it's duff.

Guess they not like current 45nm that can take safely 1.45v, then again could be something else he's done

Where have I seen this before
I'm sure I also raised the Vcore debate before too.

    There price is higher, yes.
But at least they've followed through with the sales.
Aria took purchases on Wednesday, and then removed, and then hit back on Friday and haven't shipped any (As far as I know)
It's all a moot point, I congratulate Aria on the price however.

In fairness we have no idea if 1.4 caused the problem. He claimed it was only that high for a few small tests. Considering others are putting 1.6 through for benchmarking (one hit 5.4ghz afaik) I have to hope and doubt that its not the volts that killed it.
