I havnt had any problems with virgin media 20mb and always get the full speed.

I hear the tech support is awful though. But as long as you don't need that your good to go

I am not losing weight! I'm getting rid of it. I have no intention of finding it again!

Well, every company will have problems, and Virgin Media has had quite a lot with merging Virgin and Cable and Wireless... The best I have heard of (if a] it is available in your area and b] you aren't one of the few that has problems with them) is BE Broadband. Very quick, very consistent service. Unfortunately only available to a small percentage of the population

Edit - WOAH! Just read the thing about Phorm... I already have Tor, and JAP, but because I regularly download and try free software, and do a lot of gaming, it is useless for me half the time... As for the Opt-out clause mentioned, isn't that illegal, or merely frowned upon now? I am fairly sure it has to be an opt-in thing, but could be mistaken there...

I used to work for BT for a few years, and still have several friends within their management, so will be asking what is happening tomorrow...
