    Default 7300GT

Just a bit of a heads up rerally, anyone looking for a cheap (under £70) graphics card yet wants something that is capable of playing games at a reasonable resolution / quality then you should consider one of these bad boys.

I have got one and its kicks my 800gto into touch.

Heres a benchy for your perusal.

Thats approx 25% better than the x800gto i had before.

So Aria what you waiting for get the Inno 3d 7300gt DDR3 in now 8)

Very easy to get mild overclocks, like mine, basically all i ahve done is increased the FSB to 240 (as that is all my motherboard will allow) and lowered the HT multiplier to keep that below 1000mhz. My memory is rated at DDR500 (250mhz) so there was no need to mess with memory settings.

Have a look round the net there are plenty of guides. If my mobo that i fitted the 3800 in allowed it i could have played with various voltages (cpu / chipset / memory) to increase the stability should i need to but as it is its fine.

Overclocking can be a daunting prospect but the vast majority of motherboards allow it to some extent and it can be very rewarding.

I wont lie to you, you can kill things if you are stupid and put too much voltage through the various components without sufficient cooling so you need to be careful if going for some \"serious\" overclocks.

Be sensible and ask questions if you are unsure but try to do the research yourself as its more satisfying if you learn how to do it rather than have someone tell you each and every step, keep any eye on the temperatures (upgrade cooling if necessary). If you do everything right you should have a perfectly stable rig that outperforms more expensive, but stock, setups for a fraction of the cost and there is no reason why it's \"useful\" lifespan shouldn't last as long as a stock setup if you have taken the proper precautions, if anything an overclocked systems \"useful\" lifespan could well be longer than a stock set up.

Yeah i have played with Abits uGuru a bit and couldn't really get on with it. I was overclocking my 148 at the time and struggled to get to 2.5ghz. 5 mins later poking around in the bios and it was doing 2.7.

Personally i am a fan of bios overclocking but windows overclocking does have its plus points, ie push to far hit the reset button and your back to stock. Push to far in the bios and you need to go hunting for the bios jumper, i assume you know where this is?? If not find it before you attempt ANY overclocking.

Have fun mate and like i said if you are unsure about anything feel free to ask i'll be glad to help out if i can, but i aint gonna do it for you 8)

If you have cpu voltage settings then im sure it's there somewhere mate, not all mobo manufacturers call it FSB, think some call it LDT maybe HTT whatever its called it will be set to 200 and will increment by 1mhz steps. Don't mistake it with the memory speed settings as that will also be set to 200 but you will only be able to set it to one of various settings 166, 133 etc being a couple of typical settings. Also some mobo's ram speed settings might be listed as ratio's ie 9:10 8:10 etc.
