Question USB2 4port manual share switch

I am unable to switch my printer from my desktop iMac to my MacBook Pro laptop -0SX 10.4.10. I have the green light for the iMac and can use the printer through the switch, but I am unable to find a key to double click to transfer the use of the printer to the laptop. What is the scroll lock key, or the hot key. Can anyone help please ?
    Nathaniel.

    Default USB2 share switch

    Thanks for your reply.

No drivers have been installed. None were supplied or mentioned in the instructions. Perhaps i could download drivers from the web if they are necessary ?

Thanks. The HP URL advises that I already have an uptodate printer driver for the 6122 on Mac OSX 10.4 Tiger, and this is born out by the fact that I can print from the laptop when directly connected to the hp 6122 printer.
I thought you were referring to a driver for the USB sharing switch which I had connected and am unable to transfer connection from the desktop to the laptop.

I dont understand what you mean when you say transfer connection. Do you mean physically swap the cable out of the desktop and into the laptop, or are you sharing the printer from the desktop, and trying to use the laptop to print that way? Or something else?

Default USB2 4 port manual share switch

Thanks for your interest Aaron. I have a switch gadget which is designed to allow me to have, among other things, two PCS connected to it by means of USB cables, to use the same printer without the need to disconnect and reconnect the printer cable. There is a USB cable connecting the printer to the share switch. The instructions say connect it in this way and then double click the scroll-lock key or the hot key to toggle between the two PCS. I cannot find a key which does this and at present can only print from the desktop Mac. I know the laptop can use the HP6122 printer because it does so when I bypass the share switch.

Ive not really used one of those before too..

Do you have a make or model number of the switch so we can see exactly what you are talking about?

The gadget is described on the invoice as: 4 port USB2 manual switch (14.56 including VAT and p&p) from www.aria.co.uk).
The following URL should take you to it:

    Manual+Switch?productId=16229>http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Perip...roductId=16229
