VPN connections

How do mucks,
I am running Windows Server 2003 Standard SP1 at an external site and need to set up incoming VPN connections but for the life of me I can not remember how to set up the server side of it. I can set up the VPN on the outside computers easy but when I come to set the server to let them connect to it I can?t remember how to do it. Well I have only set it up once before so that?s prob why I cant remember.
Has anyone got any sites with how to set this up that I could have a look at?

Also can mac?s connect to them normally like PC?s do or do I have to do something else?

on XP it's something similar to this...

>> Advanced connection
>> Accept incoming connections
>> Select users
>> Blah blah blah......

The rest is just box checking. Not sure on 2003 if you need to enable the RRAS components but the process should be the same. Unless your using ISA on 2003 then your on your own

oh and I have no idea if there's a mac client that supports PPTP / L2TP - i guess there must be if it's not built in to the OS but i'm not a mac guy.

lol - nothing like offering enterprise support to a customer and then hoping someone knows the answer in a forum

it's in routing and remote access on 2003

goto start -> administrative tools -> routing and remote access -> then right click on the server name and select enable something bah, not near the server atm.
If your running SBS you can use the server manager, setup internet connection, and click to enable routing and remote access.

Also you need to make sure that your router is forwarding the correct ports for VPN
these are

1723/tcp
500-501/udp&tcp
4500/udp

to forward these to your server you should give your server a static IP (that is if your running DHCP elsewhere) and forward the ports to your servers ip

As Paul says, Windows Server 2003 uses RRAS Server to provide VPN.
