Default Another Dum Q re SLI and Crossfire

    Hi

If i were to get an ASUS Commando motherboard, which is crossfire enables, but was unlikely to use more than one graphics card in it (been reading a lot and doesnt realy seem worth the expense to run multiple graphics cards) can i use an SLI graphics card in the slot, or do i need a crossfir board???

Simple question, but its things like this that cause the problems!!!

    Thanks in advance

    Dave

I don't quite understand the question BUT you can use any single graphics card in any motherboard with a matching graphics card slot. IE you can use a single nvidia card in a crosfire capable motherboard, and vice versa you can use a single ATI card in an SLI capable motherboard.

Thanks mac124 - thats all i need to know.

Not that extreme a gammer to ever likely to 'need' two graphics cards.

Your answer has allowed me to not to worry about matching graphics cards to motherboards so much...

    thanks again.

    quite right mac,

x-fire mobos = any single card is fine (ATI/nvidia)
x-fire mobos = only use ATI x-fire compatible cards when rigging up dual graphics setup

SLI mobos = any single card is fine (ATI/nvidia)
SLI mobos = only use nvidia SLI compatible cards when rigging up dual graphics setup

i turst this also the information you seek but i have created it in geeky formulae mode.
