MacTel Owners?

any mactel owners here? any first-hand accounts on performance next to the PPC?

i've got a G5 iMac, 512mb RAM - getting increasing furrowed by it's so-so performance.. i could also do with some decent monitoring tools, a la gKrellm on linux or windows performance counters.. any tips?

I belive the Intel based macs are faster than the PPC variants, and can run PPC based apps nicely in rosetta (though not as fast as they would be natively), X86 native aps run nice and speedy too

We have a Intel Dual Core Mac at work.

Is pretty impressvie, and so far very easy to use. 8)
