I got a Samsung ES55 before Xmas and I am very happy with it.
Loads of features and was under £80

A good start would be to look at some of the recent discussions here about cameras.
Not only would you see some neat photos, you would also see the sort of question that you need to ask before deciding.
Like what pictures do you want to take? Sports? Flowers? Kids?
Probably the lot.
Go for a well known maker that has a reputation for lens making.
I always go Canon.
Then pick the one that fits your wallet and, if you want that, pocket.
