Spec confusion.
I don't know whether I'm posting this in the right place. If not, apologies. Maybe you could have a folder on the forum for enquiring about specs of your products?
Anyway, this one is about this item:
http://www.aria.co.uk/productinfocom...pecialStatus=1
the Compaq EVO D500 PC with Windows XP Pro for £152.69 inc., which looks like a hell of a bargain. However, I'm looking for a bit of clarification. In the title, it says \"Pentium 4 1.8Ghz\", but in the specs:
Processor Intel Celeron 1 GHz
Processor speed 1.8 GHz
So, P4 1.8GHz, Celeron 1GHz or Celeron 1.8GHz?
I assume that the installed memory is PC100?
Also, can you tell me how many PCI slots are available for expansion?
Ta,
Dylan.

And a quick spec update later, I see it's a real P4 1.8. Excellent. Thanks.

I used to work for a pc building company, we used to sell refurbished machines with windows 98se installed and would provide the manual and eula, but no disk, after a random inspection by a MS representative we got a bollocking for it, and told we where not allowed to do this.
Are aria allowed to the below:
\"Windows XP is pre-installed complete with the Key. A copy of windows IS NOT provided\"
with this product:

Yes all our new machines went with Windows XP Pro or Home, an OEM edition, the key is on a sticker as everyone is familiar with. If you remember, 98SE had the key on the manual, and so we provided them with the OS and the Key but no disk with the OS on. MS didn't like this.
Is this not the same as what Aria are doin? Providing a PC with an OS already installed, and yes they are providing the Key and so did wes. But as it states, 'no copy of windows is provided'.
I have also seen many machines described as 'OS installed for testing purposes only and should be removed before use' - MS also give a wrist slapping for this.
I was just thinking for Aria. It was a random inspection and it was only a small company.
On a slight comical note, afterwards I read a few of the notes and noticed that the Key sticker should be stuck to the exterior of your case, and thought how daft that was, so e-mailed MS with the following:
'Dear Sir,
I have just built a PC, due to it's location I have decided not to put it in a case at all. After checking the EULA for Windows XP Pro it states that it should be fixed externally to the case. I have no case! So I am unsure of the legality of this.
I would be more than happy to provide a few suggestions of where I could put the sticker, but also, I am unsure of the legailty of that too.
Thanks'
I never did get a reply!
