    Default i7-psu

do you reckon this psu is powerful enough to run i7 spec
    dvdrw
    i7 920
    500gg hard drive
    msi x58pro
4350 graphics - with enough power in case of upgrade to 4870

according to a psu calculator - it is ok

it should be fine but you should get a bigger psu if you intend to get a beefier graphics card in the future.

i would go with a 600W or higher psu for possible overclocking or getting a better graphics card in the future

A good PSU is one thing that should never be skimped on (not that the OCZ 400w is a bad PSU...just underpowered for the OC'ers).

The 400w should be fine as long as there isn't the need for much overclocking or using a big power drawing card (GTX470 & GTX480 out of the question).

Along with a case it's one thing that can survive generations of upgrades.
