file sharing with XP help please!?!?! :)
Hi all,
Yeah, having a bit of an issue with sharing files between 2 machines (windows XP pro and windows XP home)
I have simply file sharing disbaled on the xp pro machine, as I would like to set permissions, but I can't seem to access the shares unless I have \"everyone\" enabled in the permissions?
I thought the idea was that if the username and pass matched on both PC's and that username was in the permissions list on the host PC (xp pro) it would let you in automatically? and if somebody else logged in and tried to access it would aks for a password?
My siuation is that I am the only user of the PC in my household, but the laptop (the xp home machine) is used by others, so I don't really want anybody else having full access to my shares on the PC
Can anybody help?
PS: Also, there is no way to do anything more detialed than simply file sharing the other way around its there? as XP home only spports simple file sharing?
