    Default xp seeing vista

    ok heres the thing,
    i have an xp pc and laptop and a vista64 htpc,
    the vista can see the xp machines but the xp machines cant see vista,
    networked through a router.
    laptops wireless.
    can anyone advise?

    Setup the domain? Because unless my vista and XP were setup to same domain it was a no go, also in network settings, network share has to be enabled and the network made private i think. Should all work if the above is done.

    not sure how to do what youve suggested,
    especialy the domain bit lol.
    but thank you, at last now i have something to go on.

    well.. the xp machine can see the vista machine under workgroup computers,
    but, i cant enter the vista machine as it asks for a user name and password,
    i havent set one up and cant figure out how to.

    i hate being a noob and asking for help, but if anyone can advise..
    ive had a pc for four years lol and cant do something as simple as this.
    just wish they supplied a more detailed manual.

    update,
    from searching the vista website i can now see the other computer and the files within, but i cant access those files,
    ive tried sharing them on the vista pc but to no avail,
    so now i cant figure out how to share folders..

    edit,
    nevermind ive done it, and boy was it simple...not.
    why the hell they couldent of made it possible in less than a hundred cliks of a mouse ill never know.
