    Default SLI and VISTA

Assuming this forum is the right one for this.

Just read other forums for a game I regret buying and stumbled onto a thread that VISTA doesn't run / recognise SLI, because it hasn't been updated by NVidia yet.

I am waiting in hope for my machine which will have twin SLI 7950GT's.
Apart from the wait and the game I just got not working anyway I am regretting ordering Vista at all.

Anyone say this is true or false?
Anyone running a true games machine with Vista?

I think years is an over exaggeration.
The fact of the matter is that to get to the next evolution of gaming (DirectX 10) you NEED vista.
That very fact alone with push Nvidia and DAAMIT to create better drivers.
Give it until the summer, though.

I have decided (after reading this post and continuing arguments on other forums at how flakey vista is) that I am going to dual boot for a start. My current XP pro & Vista ultimate. Then wait like a lot of people till the SP1 comes out for it before making it the main OS. Get to know it with a reliable and working backup OS, with which to play games.

I am not a big fan of Microsoft at the best of times, 10 years in IT and IT compliance have told me to steer well clear.

I thought new system. New OS. Being a games machine I am getting it for DirectX 10 (and some games like Halo2) So I was hoping Nvidia would at least have caught on, and that SLI not working was a myth.

I just want games for linux and I will be happy.

Some games won't work on vista like the expansion pack to star wars empire at war and dark messiah of might and magic i don't know if the other games would work with vista.
