Default 8 pin power connector for CPU on PSU??

MY OCZ600SXS has just died on me and I'm pretty sure its not taken my system with it. It has a 3 year warranty and i'm not sure if the warranty is still valid however if its not I will have to get a new PSU for my FP-IN9 SLI motherboard.

My motherboard manual however asks me for a 24 power connector which is normal and not the problem however my CPU ATX 12v is an 8 pin connector? Do i need a PSU with 8 pins or will a 4 pin be okay? I'm pretty sure I booted it on my old PSU using 4 pin but my memory decieves me i'm not 100% when it comes to PSU's.

Anyways I also run a 8800GT on this board so whats the cheapest PSU you would recommend anyways?? As I just spent all my cash on new parts and can't really afford a new PSU so this is a problem..

YOu can use just a 4 pin ATX by using it in the closest 4 pins out of the 8 to the socket, but refer to the manual anyway just incase.

However if you are doing any OCing then 8 is recommended.

Most decent PSU nowadays will have 8 anyway.

I figured anyways as I had been using a 4 pin in the past but I really didn't wanna carry on doing that if I was forced to get a new PSU any recommendations for a guy on a budget?

Well it also depends on what wattage you need, you could probably get along with a Corsair VX450. If thats too dear then i think all the Enermax PSU's have 8pin connectors however you get less wattage for your money.
