Nothing, i think you can now buy oem software on it's own. If for what ever reason your order is refused buy a hdd with it :wink: .

You don't need to get anything. I ordered my new set-up thinking my mate would pick up Vista for me, he forgot, so I ordered it from Aria knowing it'd arrive next day (kudos to Aria again). Ordered two copies by themselves and it was all OK.

But did you get them to activate? And did they stay activated?
activated straight away and no problems yet.

Installed Windows Vista OEM on my recently built PC last night. The PC previously had XP installed so I iniitially tried the \"Upgrade\" install. This completely buggered everything up. As far as I can tell one of the drivers that worked in XP did not in Vista. As a result Vista would not boot to the windows screen.
After a bit of fiddling about I managed to copy my import files using the command line to a back-up disk. I then performed a full install of Vista and everything seems to be working a-okay.

I was my fault to be honest. Vista gives you a list of applications that are incompatible with the OS. Unfortunately I glossed over that and installed anyway.
That then led to the boot up problems. The only disappointment from my point of view was that the information provided by Vista about the problem was non existent. Even when booting in safe mode you had no idea where the driver problem was. In the end it was simply easier to perform a full install.
