Default Help me find a graphics card < £60

Hello everyone. I'm looking for advice for my new build.

    The build:
    MSI board (onboard VGA)
    AMD 3800+
    2Gb PC3200
    Windows Vista
    blah blah blah.

So I'm in need of a decent graphics card. I plan to convert this to a media center and connect to my TV using S-video (as my TV aint the best!).

    My criteria is:
    to work well with Vista
    Be fanless
    PCI
Future proof - (HDTV would be nice!)
As much memory as possible (unless anyone has a good reason not to?!)
pretty reasonably priced (hoping to pay no more than £60 if possible)

I'm pretty clueless on graphics cards - I've always tried to turn a blind eye to them but now I have no option! Pleeeease help

i looked at this one? http://www.aria.co.uk/EmailAFriendLink.asp?IDNO=24145 any views much appreciated. Is there a remarkable difference in this to the Geforece 6 series?

    Thanks

If you're going to go for a 7300, make sure it has DDR3 Ram on it - its much faster!

    Hi cassa
why not go for a 7300GT DDR3, Aria don't stock them, but if you look round for one you can buy one for under £60, I can't give you the link but try searching on google,

    Hope this helps

I don't think you will get a 7300gt ddr3 for under £60 but for the extra £10 or so they are leagues ahead of the ddr2 version.

Also Aria do a 7600gt for under £80 atm

Might be worth a look if you are buying now.

This is the card for you. It is £70 so I'm £10 over budget, but the performance difference with Vista will be worth double that (more actually..)

The card you chose has DDR2 video memory on board, the one above has DDR3. Its a brilliant little card for a media centre, you could even get away with some gaming with it so long as you keep respectable resolutions and settings.[/quote:2a9aad2636]

I'd also like to point out that I've come to the conclusion that PP actually gets commission for recomminding those cards or something

I have recommended them on a few occasions too, i may have been the first one to recommend them actually??. I do actually own one and it IS a blinder of a card for the £££. Would recommend them to anyone whos building a pc on a buget but wants some gaming ability.
