    Default Few problems so far..

I'm trying to set up my monitor (THIS one https://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Disp...roductId=37241).

Unfortunately when I tried to slot the monitor into the stand, one of the two little black prongs which connect to the base snapped under the weight of the monitor, causing it to fall. I made a trip to the local shop and got some superglue, reattached the prong and reinserted the monitor but it lasted about 5 minutes and the monitor has fallen off again.

I noticed that the delivery woman was using the monitor box to prop open the door to my block of flats (grrr) so maybe the connector has been weakened?

Can anyone suggest to me how I could fix this. It's a bit annoying as I was loving everything so far (I've taken pictures of everything to show off later )

    Cheers.

having just admitted to breaking it yourself, I'm not sure where you will stand on this one. There is a who road to go down if it really was far too easy to break with a unit being "fit for purpose", but I'm going to sit on the fence and wait to see what the Aria response is

I don't think that putting the monitor on the monitor stand means I did anything to break it myself but to be honest all I want to do is try and fix it :/

Edit: The monitor wasn't in my hands when the thing broke - it was slotted into the stand. That seems unfit for purpose to me and it's certainly unfit for purpose at the moment =P

    HI there

I've dropped an email to the manufacturer, hopefully they will read this and have a solution or possible some spare stands.

@Gibbo: I don't need a spare stand - the prong was on the bottom of the monitor - but thanks. Hopefully this is a common problem and they'll be able to advise.

ah, so guessing (without pics) that the stand comes in two parts that you clip together and than attach the monitor to? That would mean the prong you refer to is part of the connection between the upright and stand base?

By the limited look I can get from the store pic, the build order would be upright into base (broken prongs) and then monitor onto stand. So would the broken prong be on the upright part or the base. I guess it'll be reasonably irrelevant as they probably come as one product code as components to many many monitors by that manufacturer.

    Hi there

Lets just say we sell thousands and we have not come across this issue, I shall let you know what Digimate say when they come back to me on this.

Ah yes you're bang on the money with that DoubleTop. I had a little look and it's in 3 bits; the stand, the connection between the stand, and the monitor and the monitor itself. The problem is the connection (upright part). I've got it resting mainly on the back prong at the moment (taking weight off the front prong). It's not the most comfortable of viewing angles but I guess it will do for now...
Oh btw it arrived with the connecting section already screwed on to the monitor. I didnt attach that myself.

Is it possible to post pics?

Will make it easier just incase Gibbo can't sort something out.

I can't put the pictures on the PC unfortunately cause I lost the USB cable from my PC to my phone.
I've got a webcam set up though if that would be useful.

Nope! The webcam is about two years old and on its last legs. All it does is stream now, won't capture. I think the button to take pictures is broken.

Edit: Great how everything seems to go wrong at once isn't it

I was just about to say you seem to be having alot of luck

It's a tricky one to comment on without knowing exactly what it looks like and how it works.

    Haha yeah... cheers anyway.

It's alright for now I figure. I've changed my desk setup so that the monitor can rest back a bit without too many problems. Of course, I'd still be a lot more comfortable knowing that the connector was in full working condition (not hanging by a thread :/) but I'll just wait for the word back on a replacement part for that.

Spent ages trying to set up wireless on this too, fiddling around with drivers and all that. Got there in the end! I'd like to say that even though I've had a bit of bother with the monitor (which really is out of Aria's hands) the rest of my PC is awesome and was packaged really well.

Just in case any prospective customers read this and take away a purely negative picture. I'd still recommend Aria to a friend lol
