Default Programs Cannot Access The Internet

Computer arrived this morning and it was running really slow.

Went to update the Anti Virus and it can't get a connection to the internet.

But IE can. Tried all different programs like,

    Anti Spyware
    Online Checkers
    Macromedia Updater

And they all cannot get a connection to the internet.

    Whats up?

    Default Hmmm

Hmmm....Sounds like a bit of a redirection problem going on there dude...has the machine had any spam bot infestations lately?

Also....if it was AVG you were trying to update, make sure its the 7.5 version...Oh and sometimes their server is dodgy..updating.

Might be worth doing some spam bashing.e.g. runs some scans...or try a total reinstall of IE also try the same on Firefox...might give you a clue as to which is at fault, I had a similar thing on one recently, every redirect would go to a Error page..! usually this happens when the bot no longer exists, but the browser thinks other wise, youll prolly find sumit daft in the Reg..!

    Give it a whirl....

    M...

As far as i know the machine is as clean as a whistle.

I was thinking of reinstalling IE but that works fine and can connect to the internet.
