    Default ASUS EeePc 1005HA SeaShell

I'm thinking of buying one of these for streaming internet video and music - BBC i-player etc (not HD content) is the processor and graphics up to the job?

I would guess so, my 12 year old pc could do that job and it only has 512 ram and a 64mb gpu

Should be more than enough. May even stream HD as a push.

For HD if its a single core atom then not really, and it needs the ability to offload the HD processing to the graphics, which the Intel 945 chipsets cannot do, 945 is the only chipset Intel uses at the mo.

Only Nvidia ION chipsets or AMD 780/785 Nvidia 4200/4300 or Intel HD4500 for integrated. Intel G31 is also rubbish for HD.

As Monkey says though it will be fine for SD content and music.

IMO netbooks are a waste, especially £250 for this.
