Default ARCTIC Accelero Hybrid Review (with Nvidia GTX680)

If you have recently bought a new high end video card then there is a good chance you will want to improve upon the cooling proficiency of the reference cooler. Nvidia’s GTX680 ships with a decent standard cooler, but today we are ripping the reference card apart and installing the ultra high end ARCTIC Accelero Hybrid – an integrated air and liquid cooling solution. ARCTIC claim a 200% cooling performance improvement with a 9 times noise reduction. For around £130 it will certainly need to deliver the goods.

It seems to me that the Swiss manufacturer, have taken Intel`s approach. They`re the best in the sector, but the price of the top products, is well beyond mere mortals reach.

Good review btw, as was the Xtreme III. Very interesting insights.

Nice review, great results for noise and temperature just a shame that kepler cards seem voltage limited instead of temperature

The price is far too excessive for what it is. I could see myself going for a full block version of this without that little fan but not the product in its current form.

Those temperature drops sure are impressive but I think anyone who is willing to watercool their £400 GPU will already have a proper water cooling loop and therefore buying a water block for it would be cheaper as well as cluttering your system less.

Hmm imo this should be nearer H100 price, at that price it is not worth it at all

The price is a bit silly when you could easily buy an h70 and one of those gpu brackets that allows mounting of aio units for tons less cash, if the price of this was closer to £80 then it might be worth considering but £130 is just crazy. Would like to see a comparison between this and one of the accelero xtremes as they can be had fairly cheaply at times and seem a much better choice.

This. Basically an EXTREMELY overpriced h60 with some random 80mm fan slapped onto it.

The price would be justified if it was lower or if it was a full block or something.

I think that's way overpriced. getting a high end card cost a fortune already, doubt many would spend this money on cooling it further unless you want to top in overclocking/benchmarking single card.

tbh be just as cheap to custom loop the GPU

Fair play to try something else and bring something different to the gpu cooling solution table (which I think over the years has been criminally overlooked) but the prices are just stupid, no one is going to pay that.

    Next step; make it affordable.
