    Default Monitor Advice

I'm thinking about replacing my Dell P2210H.

It's a great monitor but the number of inputs is a little restrictive for me.

The problem lies in that I'm both a gamer and graphic designer and therefore colours but also responsiveness is important.

I'm looking for a monitor (Preferably under £200) that has good colours and decent response times (Not too worried about this, just so long as it doesn't have noticeable lag/ghosting). IPS is also preferred.

Since there are a silly number of monitors around at the minute does anyone know of any solid choices at present?

hi mate it seem you are looking for a dell ultrasharp monitor (true me there are good for colour , if set-up right). yess they do have a high response time, but that does not make that much differences for gaming at all.
The price do vary to the size, but you can get a 23" for less than £200 .

i also do a lot of gaming, graphics, web design etc using a dell ultrasharp monitor and it is great.

All I can say is; if you can stick with Dell - you'll be slightly, very slightly perhaps, disappointed by anything less having already owned one (at least that's how I feel).

LOL @ Naphta, interesting comment, but fairly accurate, for the average man, some of the top end Dell screens are more than good enough, to be fair, i am happy with the 2 i have, i have also seen a good Eizo screen in use, as well as some professional NEC models, and they are very very good, but for the cost outlay, not sure if they are worth it !

one thing i would like to see more of, is true PC monitor ratio of 16:10 i am fed up with seeing 16:9 "Monitors" ..... that is NOT a native monitor ratio, that's a dam TV ratio ! you lose a surprisingly noticeable chunk of screen real-estate

What i find with Eizo monitors, is that the range is not updated all that often, sometimes a good thing, sometimes bad...... for example....

EIZO Foris FS2431, current model, reviewed here......

when 4k goes mainstream I'll probably jump on an eizo oled. (when the price is sub £1500)

Dell Ultrasharp are often considered some of the best you can get for a reasonable price.
