Default Arkham City Frame issues solved.

playing on a GTX 580 maxed out - AA. Vsync on. Frame rate would be up and down so bad and sometimes looked in slow motion? Well I went into nvidia panel and set adaptive Vsync half refresh rate, Basically locking it to 30fps. Yes its 30fps but it seems much smoother now. no slow mo, no skipping just solid 30fps.

You did try playing without vsync? triple buffering can reduce framerates significantly.

I type 90 WPM, Click Here to try

I cant stand screen tare so No i try to not disable it. Triple buffering actually helps smooth out framerates with Vsync on at the cost of input lag, but you dont notice that with a pad.

I rarely ever get screen tearing - I normally turn it on in the case of me actually getting it. I see vsync as a fix more than a setting to have on.

^That that all over. Even if not for Arkham City it's useful to have around.

I spent months trying to sort FC2's inconsistent framerate and D3DO did it perfectly.

Just to enable triple buffering? Doesnt that give you bad mouse lag? It usually does with me.

That's the poor implementation a lot of games have, I've never had an issue with it with D3DO. It's also useful for games like Dead Space where the ingame v-sync completely screws up everything.

Disable adaptive Vsync, it's causing framerate problems in a lot of games from what I've seen, so I leave it globally disabled

With Dead Space (and Dead Space 2 funnily enough): Disable vsync in game, enable vsync in nvidia control panel, job done. Of course that's a game that I have to have vsync on, because if I don't I get ludicrously high fps (try around 800) and my gpu temp goes through the ceiling lol...
I saw a woman earlier today who had no chin and all I could think about was "how does she put pillow cases on?"

AFAIK, neither the Nvidia nor ATI control panels support triple buffering.

    Nvidia does:

Rarely use it for anything though

Pretty sure that's still opengl only. For direct3d you still need an app like direct3d Overrider.

Scroll down the info box, might still say that. It definitely does for amd catalyst.

Yeh its openGL only, Honestly though with the half refresh rate enable I really enjoyed Arkham city. One of my favourite games, Maxed out on everything and 2xAA. Lovely visuals. I finished Arkham Asylum the week before so it was a good follow on.

    Human Revolution next

I could have sworn I'd read somewhere in one of the 2xx.xx updates that it worked for dx now... Must have been dreaming lol
