Krombacher is supposedly one of Germanys best selling Pilsners, and I love the fact its made over there. Shame there no top 10 list of real German Pilsners.

Far too many beers are "brewed in the UK under license" Efe's is one example and it tastes nothing like the original Turkish variant.

Have you tried some local beers and ales? It's amazing how undersold they can be when really they're top quality.

When your local breweries are Marble, Thornbridge and RedWillow You have to look at smaller breweries. Quantum's beers are absolutely fantastic, particularly as they are made in a lock up.

Bought this lot from a nice beer shop around the corner from me last night:

The ciders were bought for the gf but she only opened the one on the right, so didn't get to sample the other 2. The Thistly Cross cider doesn't taste like it's 7.2%. It's not the fizziest of ciders if that's your thing but very, very smooth.

All 3 of the beers were superb in their own way. Libertine Black Ale and Arrogant Bastard Ale certainly aren't something you'd drink in a big session but definitely worth a try. Sierra Nevada was infinitely more quaffable over a prolonged period however. Very tasty stuff and probably my favourite of the three.

Libertine is ok, Sierra Nevada doesn't do it for me (i'm just not a pale ale guy), but the missus loves the stuff
    Don't know the rest

Stone's stuff is oh so good, I've had that one on draft and it is gorgeous.
