Wow, my POV card can do 900mhz, but the MSI can only manage 838mhz 'stable' it can reach about 870Mhz but will randomly crash, so both @ 838 same bios for 100% stability. Performance is good enough . Will do until next year..

Sweet, epic overclockers !! Shows that CPU makes big difference aswell, this one here is with 2700K @ 5.0Ghz - http://3dmark.com/3dm11/3312197

Would love to see how many points I could of got with GPU's @ 950mhz! My MSI 480 is holding the other back unfortunately .

    Your 480's VS mine http://3dmark.com/compare/3dm11/3312197/3dm11/1204581

Shows that CPU etc have massive effect on GPU performance...

Just out of interest; where did you get these brackets? Were they a custom design or can you buy them from somewhere?

Love the idea, by the way! Just a thought, could you not keep (mod) the shroud so that it will keep the air flowing in the right direction from the fan? Maybe that would result in some more effective cooling for the VRAM and voltage circuitry.

Yeah a user at overclock.net makes the brackets and will ship them anywhere , you could put the shroud back on, on the 4XX series cards but it would make little difference to vrm temps tbh, my actual fan is still on the card and working at a very low speed, so that provides enough airflow for vrm, that's fine for 4XX and 5XX series cards but for newer models there is also a different type of bracket that has place for fan directly above the vrm's (See pics below). I've ordered a couple of the 'fan brackets' aswell, for the newer type cards...

Pretty neat! Just make sure you can keep the VRAM cool. I would imagine the surrounding air from the fan above the VRM circuitry would suffice but I wouldn't be too sure.

You mean between my bracket and the cable ties?

Not really in terms of temps, but feel safer knowing that it's held on with bracket if you get what I mean, although the cable ties were secure, part of you wanders maybe could they just fall off lol.

The brackets are well worth getting, makes installation far easier. I have 2 'standard brackets' cooler only brackets for the 480's and ordered a pair of the 'fan brackets' for a pair of new GPU's when prices drop..

Imagine this mod on GTX 670/680 / 7950/7970, ridiculous overclocking potential !! When the prices are right ima grab a new pair of GPU's..

What are you upgrading to? 670 and 680 don't really benefit with overclocking from water. The new AMD's do though.

Yeah, probably will go AMD as I do need the extra VRAM plus the new drivers are pretty good I heard?

It's def an cheap/easy way to get very low temps. Kepler loves water aswell, really nice temps with Kuhler mod.

My Gigabyte UD5 mobo seems to have given me more headroom to OC my 480's .
