need help with a build

I want to build my own pc but dont know alot about it.
Basicly i want it to have;
3500+ cpu
1 gig of ram
and around 250 gig hardrive
I mainly use my pc atm for photoshoping and downloading

Well i plan to start a graphics course next year so i will be working with quite big image files on photoshop. I want to spend around 350 pounds not including the screen. I dont know about Intel or AMD as i dont know alot about pc's but i have had AMD in the past.

the course i will be doing is just a founation course where i will be mostly using photoshop for images and not so much animation, will i need a gcard if i will never play games on it

what i would do is buy 1 gig of ram and then but buy another at a later date
