    Default ** MSI Z77 & Ivy Bridge Retail **

    Hello all,

if anyone is experiencing slight issues with their MSI Z77 and the new Ivy Bridge retail processors MSI recommend that you update your BIOS. We have been working closely with our UK resellers to identify and resolve any early teething issues and have produced an updated BIOS for each model.

You can find the latest BIOS for your board, which include a few fixes for reported issues here

    Hi, Scot.

I bought an MSI Z77 GD65, it booted first time no problems, after resetting it is now stuck in a boot loop and shows an error code 55 on the Deboug display. The board powers up and just before it tries to post it resets and just repeats the process.

Unfortunatly, a friend of mine bent some pins on the CPU socket, which I have bent back into place now, that is not what is causing the problem though as this was after it got stuck in a boot loop, because the pins were bent and you can tell they were I can't return the board or get it fixed.

Is there a way I can fix the board myself, I can't get into the BIOS to update it so i'm at a dead end unless you can suggest anything, thanks in advance.

Already tried that many times dude

I have tried different RAM, each slot and stick individually and I still get the problem. It's definitely non of my other components either, i'm using them all now in a different motherboard. I've tried removing the CMOS battery and leaving it unplugged for days and the prob is still there, it powers up and shuts down before it sends a signal to the screen as well so it's not even getting as far as posting so I can't get into the BIOS to try and update it either.

Looks like i'm stuck with a £150 paper weight

That sucks mate, I've read other places of people stuck in a boot cycle, more cpu vcore and a clr cmos was enough for me but I may well have been lucky.

Try it with no CPU at all, it should POST as far as "No CPU detected". If it still doesn't do it, then I'm afraid it does look like your motherboard is bricked

I updated the bios on mine and then found out I lost my overclock
How do you change the volts in standard mode? Seems I can only change them in oc genie customize mode or is that just how you have to do it now?

i see what you mean, the options aint changable now an you need to change in oc genie but if i try that i just crash.

oc in os wont work and the other way with each core doest take either.

new bios fails scott, stops the bootloops but no oc

i would rather it looped at power on than no oc mate

    i love it

instead of fixing the issue they just swapped it around.

board wont oc without boot loops and fails to wake from sleep.

bios still outputs video that is too small to show on screen items.

tech support closed my ticket after all the asked to try failed and 2 new bios still didnt fix it.

wish i had waited on a gigabtye z77 mobo now you know

I'd go asus or gigabyte if I was buying again dude, I've not necessarily had any massive problems just a few little niggles
