I really feel for you young guys on the insurance side of things, even thought I have never owned a car in my life to insure the MG ZR I bought only cost me £340 fully comp which aint bad for some old fart with 0 no claims, and that includes breakdown, windscreen, courtesy car etc. Sometimes I wonder how they reach the figures they come up with, I know younger drivers are a higher risk, but on a 1litre car some of the quotes are a joke.

    Cosford, Are you in Manchester?

Apparently areas of manchester are the most expensive in the UK.

    Considered 3rd party ?

Jeez that's cheap, I'm 30 and pay 650 on a 2l 8v golf gti with 4 yrs ncd, she's only group 10! You must be eleventyone!

tbh insurance companies are con-men though, we all know that.....i'm suprised they don't offer the first hit (year) free...

I don't understand why your insurance quotes are so expensive. My sister is looking at buying my car off me (58 reg 1.25 Fiesta) and her quotes came out at around £650 and she's only 20.

    Anyone driven/owned a Clio?
Was a little put off by the girly shape of it, but the 2002 onward models have a more aggressive headlight design and they seem quite spacious inside...

Teat driving isn't really possible for me as I'm on a provisional

My step-dad will be doing any and all test driving though, aha.
    Thanks for the input Kathryn

you should still be able to test drive on a provisional if you go to a dealer as long as someone eligable to sit in with you goes with you to my knowledge, enquire first with the garage you go to but i'm sure you can as long as they have a traders policy.
