    Default half decent 5.1?

I'm after a decent (ish) 5.1 system for my room, thinking around the £100 mark (so maybe not even half decent? no idea with audio really). I'm no massive audio addict but it would be nice to have some decent quality, for music, films and gaming. Are the usual brands (logitech, lg etc.) to avoid? Or decent? Not really sure.

    thanks

I'll say what i said in the last thread - get yourself a decent Hi-Fi set-up.

Buying new is beyond your budget by about 50%, but if you have an ebay account give the bay a look over for an amp and some speakers.

I just bought a set of Logitech X-530's for £35 from Logitech and they are excellent. They're more than suffice for my purposes, however, I'm no Audiophile. I do have a keen interest in Music and it's quality/clarity but see little need to buy anything higher up the spec ladder simply because the set I bought are more than adequate. They look quite nice too.

Are your X-530s connected to a full 5.1 source? The sound quality on them between stereo and surround is massive

If you have £150 to spend and don't mind getting a refurb system then the Logitech Z906's are available for £150 inc shipping.

I went for a whole different route to buying what I was originally going too, this being a 5.1 home theatre set up by Samsung.

I ended up getting a second hand 7.1 amplifier from an old friends speaker set.

Then I got a car sub-woofer, from a local car boot sale (literally haha).

With that in place I got myself 7 speakers from eBay, all the same (typical 50W units with driver and tweeter).

I must say that it sounds awesome and cost me around £90 in all, quality sound too.

Here's a video of the old set up I had: http://youtu.be/RYGzIutHLKg

^ Note: This was with an old 5.1 amplifier and old speakers (car sub is still the same).
