  • cli.exe error on startup

On my old PC I put in a Radeon 9600 pro graphics card, went to install the driver but couldn't as I needed to update .NET. So I updated .NET, installed the driver and when rebooted it gives this message
cli.exe - .NET Framework Initialization Error
Unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application
I googled it and read that I should uninstall the graphics driver and then reinstall, which I've done but still the same error. Any ideas?

    tried re-installing .NET?

That error would suggest to me that its not recognising the .NET as being installed. You should be able to uninstall it in the add/remove programs.

Tried the repair which didn't work. Uninstalled and reinstalled but still shows the error on start up.

Edit: Appears to be fixed, I did what it said here, unchecked the ATI entry on startup. Can be closed now.
