  • Spec me a PAYG sim card, with the least frequent top up requirements...

I've got a old contract sim in a GSM auto dialler for my house alarm, this runs out in a few weeks. Want to replace it with a PAYG sim, some i've looked at have minimum top up requirements to keep them active.

So i'm after a sim I can top up, fit in auto dialler, and forget. Bonus points for any online functionality to check available credit or top up.

I have a sim in a phone hidden in my car that turns on for 1 hour a day and sends a text of the car location....

Your credit does not expire as long as you make 1 out going call/text every 3 months .... and you can set it to auto top up if your credit drops below £2..... plus you get a free tenner for getting a sim card !!

Also I dont think GiffGaff credit expire so long as you make a call/text/internet access every 6 months

    Found this.....

Thanks Joker, I was thinking giffgaf, means i'd have to set me alarm off once every 3-6 months so it makes a phone call, but reckon the missus does that at least once a week before she's had a coffee

Also a good sanity check that its still working lol... as an aside.... Ikea used to do a Employee/Family and friends sim card that never expired.....( I mean NEVER! ) I had one for about 4 years they were bought out last year cant remember by who but they shut it down.... I still had £4.70 of the original £5 credit I put on and they paid it into my Paypal account on closure lol....

I wasn't going to suggest it until Nevbox gave feedback if it was worth it.

Freedom pop is good for this. I have one in my phone as a backup and it is not half bad. Looks like it uses the three network.

i would say giffgaff too, you can check the balance online quite easily or on a phone app, quite good actually

juts checked and airtime credit doesnt have an expirey date unlike the goodybags
