  • Which phone to get?

Long story short I am due a new work phone and have been told I can have anyone I want due to my long service.

So my question with this in mind which phone would you get and why?

One caveat, nothing two big or phablety, about 5" screen size max I think.

Nexus 6 is due out soon I think (although rumours point towards a potential 5.8" screen). Have also heard there may be a Nexus 5 (2014) refresh.

Otherwise the Sony Z3 Compact is meant to be a very decent phone.

Nexus 4 suits me fine. I line SIM free Androids.

Look for something that fits into your pockets and doesn't bend when you sit on it.

But maybe you are in iFreak.

No love for Windows phones? The 930 seems well specced and includes wireless charging out of the box.

Z3 Compact seems like a good idea but seems too small, currently have a Lumia 630 and it is only just big enough for my liking.

from looks alone I don't like the nexus that much as it seems bland, the screen in the G3 seems awesome, used to love htc so the M8 might be a good option, the Z3 appears to be quite square. Might have to pop into Carphone Warhouse and have a size up.

also have to decide whether to stay with windows or move back to android.

Apparently there might a smaller N6 from Motorola or a refreshed N5 from LG, my guess is a smaller N6. Also might be a N8 with 8" screen before the end of the year.

The LG G3 is a great phone (I have one!), but it is a 5.5" display so a little larger than I think you want (But worth it!). The LG G3s is out very shortly which is 5", however the specs are really anywhere near the G3 unfortunately.

Have you looked at the Samsung Galaxy Alpha at all? Fantastic phone!

Popped into CW today and have narrowed it down to the Z3 Compact or the Galaxy Alpha.

Both have their positives and negatives but the in hand size is right.

Now just to decide which to have.

Thanks for this, have decided that the Z3 compact is ideal.

The galaxy Alpha is overpriced, has a poor battery life and no SD slot. 32gig is good, but sometimes it's nice to have more. Plus the Z3 is waterproof.
I'm struggling to see any cons with the Z3 other than it connects to the PS4 which is a feature I don't want or need. So I won't use it. Not a con exactly then.

Any downsides to the Z3 compact that I can't see?

                          Next question is network.
EE are doing it for 27 a month, unlimited calls and Texts and 4gig data. (49 upfront)
o2 are 32 a month, unlimited calls and texts and 5gig data (no upfront cost)
And Vodahahahfone (my current supplier) won't budge from 39.50 a month for 4gig data.
3 don't do the compact, only the full fat version

Is this a SIM only phone? If not, might be worth considering. This is the way the market is moving.

EE does much better prices than that for SIM-only deals.

<6 a month for unlimited calls and Texts and 600 MB data

Then again, it was the "retainments team" that threw that deal at me.

Deffo go with Z3 compact, I've got Z1 compact not much difference between the two but it's very solid no complaints at all, battery endurance is best seen on high end phone in long time tbh.
