  • Nice writeup SAS, I need to reinstate the spinning to get back the uphill steam train legs, have switched to some flat DC trainers as was getting footcramps in my good old nike running trainers, caused by hill climbing too

Aggro pic of bronny from underneath on the bike rack

Next week is looking HOT, finally dust can adorn the trails.

        Transition Patrol?

Thats the only one I know, as seen one in Peaks up Mount Famine, and it was a lovely lovely looking machine.

          • Ha, it's a 2015 scout, frame picked up cheapish from eBay...then full bearing replacement. Other than that it's the components off my Boardman. Rides nicely, corners like nothing else I've ridden.

Plenty pics on my last strava

              • Aye, loving it! Just need to find the time to ride it. 125mm rear travel is certainly enough (I was a tad concerned despite the reviews)

                • Super nice U/G, thought it was brand spank bike!

...........and I remember the days you didn't want a full plusher Onwards and upwards.

Looks much slacker than the board, how much does she weigh?

                  • Ps love the kitchen floor, cabinets, and handles! Where from?

                    • Ha, floor and handles B&Q, kitchen units were from Magnet. Wooden worktop...I won't tell you as I wouldn't wish wooden worktops on anyone!

As for the Scout, geo table in link below. Feels slightly lighter than the boardman but not much in it, head angle is about the same (offset bushings in the boardman) but the rest of it feels better.

                      https://www.transitionbikes.com/PDF/2015_scout.pdf

Next step is 150mm forks (pike/yari) and replace brakes/drivetrain, new c2w in may/june....

                      It's never-ending!

                      favourite pic:

                      • Looks a proper weapon! I was miring the Transition Patrol up in peaks i'll try and put a pic up twas a flyby of my ride. Internal cable routing the lot FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

I'd go Pikes, can get them on offer quite regular, check out the EU bike sites, bike components.de , bike247 etc

I really want the new Blur, perfect for my XC hill climbing style of riding, as 29er, would knock 4-5lbs off my Blur LT, i'd be going up hills at warp factor 16, but its between 4-7k! booooooooooooooooooooooo

May have to check those handles out as currently repainting kitchen cupboards and speccing new handles.

Let me guess, wooden worktop of all the cup ring stain fame?

                        • With the wooden worktop it's more scratches from the dogs/dropping stuff and having to oil them every 6 months....it's a quick job but a proper pain in the @rse.

I see you on something like a Camber/Stumpy 29er or the T129 if Whyte still did it. Something of that ilk anyway. I'd say you're due an 'upgrade'

Patrols are lovely but it's a lot of bike, TB will confirm what the trails I tend to be on are like in terms of roughness etc but the Patrol would still be too much 95% of the time. Scout....it's just a lairy trail bike, Rides bigger than it is. May have to look at a Sentinel or Smuggler next though

                          • Sounds like my decking thats a once a year stain/oil, makes me rage!

                            I'd love the Blur

                            Have a look at this
