  • Pet Rats?

I'm curious, anyone else have them? All I hear from people at work is 'the tails.....'

Currently have 3 boys, 1 male at about 2.5 years and 2 lil boys at about 7 weeks (the new ones are champagne coloured, 1 dumbo 1 normal, the older male looks like a black rat but is the friendliest thing ever). Our girls all died recently :-(

I don't have any myself, but I absolutely love them

        Aww nice.

I do have a hamster, but it looks a bit odd if you keep both snakes AND rats, people start to wonder...

The only two creatures I can't stand are slugs and leeches

We have a hamster too, but tbh i find him a lot less interesting (although he gets on with the rats...)

You keep snakes? Odd with rats I'll admit but I have a few friends who keep them, not my thing buut very misunderstood creatures. A mate of mine had a 7 foot boa for a while, lovely animal, very friendly til it escaped into his floor one time and only left a bilion flies as its legacy. Also have a friend with a teen foot python....scary! (it's 'house' is bigger than the bar in my local).

Anyway, pics ('scuse the bad camera work):

The cage Jasper (big rat) chose to leave:

              where he chose to move:

Humphrey the dumbo when we got him:

              Humphrey and Edgar wanting cider:

              Jasper:

rat **** all over the place and they pee all over the place too.

our cat would have them brownbread in minutes

obviously you have to let them out sometimes but even if you didn't you have to clean the cage

                          i couldn't

Your cat would not have them brownbread in minutes.

Same thing for me, I would hate to clean out cat litter trays. Besides that, cats always use the garden as a loo, so despite liking cats, I dislike them too
