I'm forever hearing Doom / Doom2 sound effects in films, especially the doors, lifts, and the final boss room where the wall thing fired rockets that spawned monsters at you.

Ditto here. I've even heard Doom effects in Doctor Who (The Impossible Planet); which actually has a pretty decent sound department who create original effects.

I used to hear sounds from Magic Carpet in movies and TV all the time too (specifically the speed up sound), but I've not heard that in a while now.
