  • Recased a pair of Dells

A few weeks a go I sold a customer a pair of Dell Vostro 220 Systems.

While here I said he had seen the Snowball Pictures on my Facebook, and I was also building a System into a CIT F3 in white which he liked.

He then contacted me that he had would like his two Dells built into white cases with blue fans?!?

I quoted him for the price of the job and supplying the CIT F3 and an AVP Venom in white.

he was happy with the quote and I ordered the cases, only to find that it would appear that there were no longer any AVP Venoms in white from "known" retailers.

He decided that the Kolink Aviator in white was a suitable replacement.

had an issue with Dell using the USB shield Pin (pin 9) to ground.

If not connected halts the boot process with a USB cable error detected.

    My fix...

Laptop ide drive jumper on the back of the board from pin 9 to pin 7

Here are the Cit F3 Finished PC (no I/O backplate used as the Vostro 220 doesn't use them)

had to use a 24pin and 4 pin extensions and a Sata power to Molex cable to power the front fan.

    And the Kolink

I am not losing weight! I'm getting rid of it. I have no intention of finding it again!

I read the title as "Recessed..."

Expected to see some sort of epic living room destruction, huge hole cut in the wall with a couple of giant dell monitors jammed into it sort of thing

The Dell's were actually fairly quiet before hand.

They we originally Celeron 450s when i bought them (10 each)

I "upgraded" them (Barely lol) to E2160s

and no overclocking on a Dell board with out pin mods...
