            • Lol i hope so. Only prob im having is i cannot get the motherboard to recognise dual channel memory. Both the geil and the hyper x refuse to boot if the ram is in the slots for dual channel. Work fone in single.

Boards a z77 sabertooth i get no boot and the red dram light on

                    • anything in the slots?

signs of damage/wear on the parts near that edge of the board?

i would guess mobo but it could be the cpu too.

reflashing, rolling the bios back might help if it is happening for borked update reasons?

                      • Will try a reflash and see what happens.

Cant see no damage to the slots or any where around the board.

Will check the cpu socket when i fit the dark rock.

Realistically how much performance am i losing in simgle channel.

Have put a single stick in each slot and they all run fine

                        • Unless you're benchmarking, not a lot of performance in my experience.

Things like Folding/Seti@Home/BOINC used to get massive boosts from Dual Channel mem, but that's totally different to gaming requirements.

                          • Fair enough. Prob leave it as is. Seeing huge dolding boosts already just on the gpu upgrade.
