  • Cheers for that

I've got a couple of long in the tooth PCP&C units still, the 860w is in use in the old mans machine after the Corsair HX went pop (the replacement for that is now in my spare parts build that for some reason wont take an install of windows - some hardware clash somewhere that i havent been bothered to deal with now i have the laptop) and a i have a 1Kw one as well that is for my other build which is sitting there waiting for me to get off my rear and build lol, both are not exactly the quietset of things, but have been rock solid

    • PC I built for a mate today, specs here https://www.aria.co.uk/WishList/8LlU...ELY8g2gJTknA,, (plus a be quiet cooler I had).

Some idiot () Forgot to get some more fans so its a bit warm atm, got some fractal ones laying around to lend him though. Not as fancy as some of the other stuff in here, but not bad at all for his first gaming PC.

      • how was that case to work with ? ... good cable management options ? and quality, seem ok ?

good solid selection of parts there, extra fans are always overlooked lol

You wouldn't be saying that if you saw my build! The case I have is impossible to work with!

It was nice to work with, plenty of cable lugs on the back of the tray as well as a nice amount of room behind the tray to stuff all the molex cables. The case itself I liked, good quality plastic with that soft touch stuff they talk about which does feel good quality. The finish elsewhere is good too. My main criticism of the case would be the drive bays not being sideways and the lack of any soundproofing, but it is a lot of case for 50 quid.

I've never really had any issues with the PCP&C until I was using the 1200w models and I had two that went pop.. I remember hooking a fan controller up to one and turning it on and it went pop and then the second I think I shut the PC down and then the next morning it wouldnt turn on again... Had no idea with that so I just got them replaced and with the last one, I sold it and got the AX1200's... I bought two as I had two rigs (still have the same ones today!!) and they have been nothing but rock solid..
I think I will try the Enermax in my next build but that's only because the AX1200's wont have enough juice for what I want, so I'll have to get something a little bigger which is a shame as I really love the units.. But I'll be keeping them anyways

I've got a few rigs laying about now that I need to get built up and spare found for them, so I will need to make a list and see what I need!!

              The joys of PC's!!

Thanks for the info, i've seen mention of this soft touch plastic in the reviews etc, and did wonder if it gave the case the feeling of batting above it's weight quality wise vs price, because from what i've seen, you do get a lot for very little with them, and that they do put some thought into their choices, reviewers do seem to like them

switching off one night and then nothing the following morning is a total nightmare, it's about that point you remember thinking "oh yeah, bust do a back up"

It's a nightmare and even worse when you loose any other hardware, but thankfully the PCP&C where that well protected, nothing else was harmed, so for that, I thank them!!

But hopefully with the home server I have got set up, that's where the 30Tb of storage will help me

No need for porn, I think its better to stream it nowadays though isn't it?? Besides, I have the wife for that!!

No internet is ok, fibre optic but not the fastest in the world but it works

I just have the storage for my pics, programs, films and whatever else I can fit on there Plus there's a mirror image of each drive with the exact same drive in there as well, hence the amount I have I don't bother with raid or anything like that, just use single drives that I connect up to it whenever I need to run a backup. Works well, just got to remember to back it up every so often, which to be honest, isn't all that difficult

I'd have thought also almighty, that the 7950 would have been a bit better again because of the extra Vram it has?

A 7950 would of been a much better buy and would easily offer the extra performance to justify its extra cost.
