  • Corsair RM450

Anyone had any experience with a Corsair RM450? I'm after a supply for a light duty offsite backup NAS that will be using an Asrock Avoton board (very low power usage), 6x 4TB drives + 1 Cache SSD, running 2012 R2.

I've looked at this supply primarily because it's fully modular (will only need 3x molex (to feed multi bay sata caddys) and 24pin for mobo, no 4 pin needed) and will fit the case perfectly so figure the less cables installed the better, the fact it's 80plus Gold, and I've never had an issue with any Corsair PSU's

Any thoughts or reviews (not found any)

    Cheers

    R.

Only heard good things about the RM series, but crikey they're expensive!!!

Imho I think they're good but way overpriced.

Really? 65 seems quite reasonable to me for a gold, fully modular supply... maybe I earn too much!?!

        I saw it at 72 : https://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials...roductId=57338

When you can get a decent 750W (ok, not gold or mod) at that price, I think it's a bit much for a 450

This one looks a better price though and still gold/mod : https://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Comp...roductId=58176

the RM series are good, but i've read they don't use premium components all the way through, which is a bit off, given the already pointed out premium they demand

and the 850w model review here where he's less than impressed with component selection
