  • Spec me a PSU!

Hi there, I'm currently looking at investing in a modular power supply for my new ITX build!

I think that with a 2500k and a 780 (Both mildly overclocked) a good 650w PSU will be plenty?

Don't really want to pay an astonishing amount of money

Decent 650 should be plenty... probably be fine with 550W tbh, the 780's are reasonably power efficient, however a 650W will give more headroom for overclocking while hitting the power delivery sweetspot.

Not sure how much clocking you'll get away with in the 130 mind

Well I've got the lovely ACX cooler, but I tend to leave that at default clocks because of how nice the factory overclock is anyway. And I'm planning on keeping my water cooler on my i5 whilst it's in the case, so I'll see how temps are

In terms of brands what would you recommend?

I'm kind of choosing between a RM 650W or a BeQuiet 630W, both on Aria.

How are BeQuiet in terms of warranty?

I think I read somewhere that there's a 5 year warranty on the RM 650W? I guess the extra 15 has to be worth it just for the peace of mind

Yeah modular is the reason I'm changing PSU's. Can't be dealing with them cables any more

Ah bummer, is the RM longer than standard then?

I'll have a lookie around, does it impact on compatibility of anything else?

XFX, BQ, or upper Corsair range are all good

Ordered, went with the XFX 650W on account of it being a tad smaller.

Every inch is vital in the cooler master
